...because of who we all are
I got this word from a friend during the week. It is from the Southern parts of Africa and we spent some time discussing it, since the definitions were so many. It was also difficult to fully embrace one explanation saying "I am because of you". That goes completely against my values around relationships, since I believe that we can never give other people the responsibility for who we are and what we do. However, viewing it from a philosophical angle, where the humanity is in focus and the fact that we need each other to create the change we want to see in the world, resonates with me. Ubuntu, human kindness or human-ness. At the end of the day I am what I am because of who we all are.
