To fully see the light, you have to stay in the dark

This is me. And it looks like I am closely discovering a wall in the Inland sea on Gozo, Malta. Well, I am not. I am just posing. However, this tunnel-like corridor was an amazingly beautiful dive site. The rest of the group swam all way out in the blue ocean and continued by the outer wall. We didn't. Because besides from interesting creatures and healthy colourful corals it is the caves, caverns and swim throughs that have become my best place. It is all about the light. The bluish light that is filtered through the openings. It is fascinating when you slowly discover something you always have taken for granted. I know a person who, when he swims out from the dark into the light and the first sun rays is shining through the water, looks at its reflections on his hands. As if the sunlight is something very precious. As well as no one ever has viewed mount Everest from mount Everest, it is very difficult to catch the light in the light. The contrast is necessary. To fully see the light, you have to stay in the dark.
