As he is laughingly waving to me in the magic light of the golden hour

"Är du lycklig? Are you happy?" A stranger approaches me as I am trying to capture grass and flowers in the golden hour, that time before sunset when everything becomes warm and yellow. I have a weak spot for backlight and was squatting in the sand to be able to catch the right angle. "Are you happy?"he asks me and is patiently waiting for my response. "Well, I am okay", I respond. "Kind of. Yes, I am fairly happy." The question of happiness is a rather difficult one and I usually don't use it as a measurement of my own life. "I thought you must be happy, since you are taking photos of rose hip in the sunset", he adds. "That should be something you do when you are happy." I am not sure whether that is the correct analyse, however very certain I didn't capture any rose hip, which I of course don't tell him. "Well, I might become happier by taking photos in the sunset", I respond to him, which makes him mention a YouTube clip and says something about that it is probably better to watch the sunset than to watch YouTube to gain happiness. "Maybe we shouldn't aim for extremely happy and instead go for fairly happy", I suggest. "That might be enough." He doesn't agree with me. "I want to be extremely happy, because I am unhappy", he says smilingly. Smiling through his unhappiness. "I am sorry to hear that", I say while he is walking away. "I hope you'll find your happiness." I return to my backlighted greenery, trying to get the lens to focus on the grass in the wind. "All love to you!", he more shouts than says, and as I turn around he is laughingly waving to me in the magic light of the golden hour.
